The popular social network Tik Tok is about to be blocked in the United States. This is caused by a violation of the law by the corporation that bought the rights to the utility.

The leadership of ByteDance Technology during a press conference announced the suspicions raised by the US National Security Authorities. According to statements, three dozen FBI officers burst into the main office of a Chinese company with a check and a search warrant.
“No one warned not only about a possible search, but even about the charges brought forward,” the report says. – The reason, as we learned later, was the acquisition in 2017 of the social network Musical.ly. The Americans considered the purchase illegal due to the lack of permission from the US Committee on Foreign Investment (CFIUS).”
Attitude towards Tik Tok
The social network itself, called Douyin, has been up and running since September 2016. The platform was oriented exclusively for Chinese users.
In 2017, the developers launched a copy of the utility – Tik Tok. Within a few months, the social network had more than 20 million users. By the end of 2019, there are already about a billion registered users.
Remarkably, the site was liked not only by the Chinese audience. In EU-US, the application entered the top 7 most popular utilities of 2018. In January 2019, the headquarters of Tik Tok was opened in London.

After a long silence, a spokesman for the US National Security Administration revealed the true reasons for the searches. According to him, there are several violations:

Government authorities are preparing a lawsuit for the forced cessation of the functioning of servers and a social network in the country.
If the court satisfies the penalty, the program will become unavailable to users located in the United States. For English users, the ban is not terrible yet.
