People glue their lips en masse on Tik Tok. Is this a beauty hack or madness?

Girl glues her lips TikTok

Makeup tutorials are evolving on the TikTok app. But one recent beauty hack goes beyond logic and reason.

A curious #lips trend on TikTok involves gluing the upper lip in such a way that it looks fuller. The user under the nickname @chloehammock4 made this mess. The girl applies glue to her upper lip, and then pulls it up to give the appearance of “Cupid’s bow.” The video has already gained more than 400,000 likes, 3.2K comments and 22.3K reposts.

The comments indicate that @chloehammock4 is using eyelash glue and not something industrial or harmful.

Does hairspray work too?

“All girls with silicone like: WHAT WAS IT POSSIBLE ?!”

On September 7, the video was also posted to Twitter and received over 68,000 retweets and 357,000 likes. Published clip, user Shafeeq. Since then, the video has collected 7.06 million views on the microblogging site.

“Imagine you are talking to someone and your lip accidentally falls off.”

But @chloehammock4 and other users claim that it all started with a video from a charismatic girl named @gnarlysinner.

Lip stuck and swollenResult plump upper lip

Other people have tried lip sticking, and the goal here seems to be more fun than a functional beauty hack.

This trend seems safe as long as you don’t use, you know, superglue. But this is Tik Tok, so people can probably do that too. But don’t!

Tik Tok is a collaborative environment designed for people who easily join trends, record duets, repeat videos. However, it’s also worth noting that this apparently pokes fun at the trend of insane silicone and hyaluron injections into the lips.

But users of the app don’t seem to care much about the consequences. In the comments under the video, someone writes that they would like to try a cool life hack, and someone already regrets that they do not have eyelash glue.
